Ho Chi Minh City Port, also known as Saigon Port, is a major port located in southern Vietnam, situated on the Saigon River, near the bustling city of Ho Chi Minh City. As the largest port in Vietnam, it serves as the key maritime gateway for the southern region and plays an essential role in the country’s international trade and economic activities. The port boasts a substantial annual throughput, handling millions of tonnes of cargo each year, making it a critical component of Vietnam’s logistics infrastructure.
Ho Chi Minh port has three terminals: New Port, Cat Lai port and Vict port. Cat Lai and Vict are old ports, and the most modern port is New port. There are 15 main berths in Ho Chi Minh port area, with a coastline of 2000 m long and a maximum water depth of 11 m. The handling equipment includes various shore cranes, tugs and barges. The maximum lifting capacity of the shore crane is 100 tons, and the maximum power of the tug is 1912 kW. The oil terminal is a reliable 45000 DWT oil tanker. The container terminal can store more than 1000 containers, and there are more than 10 Mooring Ships with 10000 DWT capacity. The depth of the anchorage is 13 m.
